Science Adventure: Florida

The United States offers extraordinary opportunities for educational science tours. Travel Adventure’s Science : USA program allows science teachers to extend their curriculum to some of the greatest venues in the world. One of the most popular USA destinations is Florida.

Student tour groups can choose from two outstanding tours: Florida Keys Marine Biology or Florida Space and Marine Science.
  • The Florida Keys Marine Biology program gives student travel groups the unique opportunity to learn about dolphins and other unusual sea creatures.
  • The Florida Space and Marine Sciences program provides student travel groups with two educational adventures. Begin your visit by touring the Kennedy Space Center – an education emporium. This is only place on earth where student group travelers can watch a launch, meet an astronaut, or explore giant rockets.
The Kennedy Space Center Tour, departing every 15 minutes from the Visitor Complex, takes students to the International Space Station Center, a fascinating facility that offers a glimpse into the actual structure where NASA prepares components for the International Space Station. The Habitation Module contains facilities similar to those that space station crew members use for living, sleeping, and working. An elevated observation room overlooks the actual processing bay where each space station component is checked out, processed, and readied for its trip into space. Also included on the tour is a visit to the LC 39 Observation Gantry, a 60-foot-tall complex that provides 360-degree views of the two giant Shuttle Launch Pads. A theater presentation and interactive room at the gantry’s base provide a behind-the-scenes briefing on what it takes to launch and land every NASA Space Shuttle.
