Discovery Green, a 12-acre park, is located in downtown Houston. Solar panels are being used to heat water and to generate electricity on-site. Two arrays totaling 256 solar panels generate enough power for the park office.
The George Observatory, located about one hour’s drive south of Houston in the attractive Brazos Bend State Park, is a satellite facility of the Houston Museum of Natural Science. The hour long guided tour visits the current exhibitions, talk to on-site Artists-in-Residence and see art in action. Groups also have the opportunity to explore the Craft Garden, where artists grow plant material used in craft making.

The Weather Museum teaches students about the many different aspects of weather, including science, history, and safety. Your group can also take a guided tour with a Meteorologist.
The Houston Zoo is home to more than 4,500 exotic animals representing more than 800 species. A highlight of any visit is the Tropical Bird House - home to more than 100 of the Zoo’s 800 birds.
